Cutter Brooks at Plain English in London
I've always idealized what London would be like around Christmas and it was everything I'd hoped it would be - and more. I planned a quick trip to meet a friend about some upcoming event planning and wove in some design stores I've always wanted to see.
As it so happened, Orangery favorite Cutter Brooks was hosting a pop-up at one of my favorite cabinet companies - Plain English - during my visit. As a longtime collector of Cutter Brooks holiday pieces, it was lovely to see so much of it in person. I only wish I'd had more time to try a mince pie!
I am devastated Cutter Brooks is closing up shop (permanently? for a bit?), but am grateful to have collected the unique pieces I have from them over the years.
I loved the custom antique kantha vests and jackets. They are one-of-a-kind and the perfect weight. They will translate well from the holiday season throughout the winter. This is one I had my eyes on and you can find additional pieces on sale here (until the site shutters).
I have tried to add to my Cutter Brooks ornament collection every year. They are charming and have a beautiful old vintage feel. I only wish I had purchased the Oxford Bodleian Library ornament that's now sold out. I regret that I am going to have to find a new spot with the same quality and charm of these ornaments moving forward.
Though I hope Cutter Brooks makes a return, it was a wonderful way to remember the company as I've looked forward to their holiday collections every winter season.
