Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler in London
Between the fabrics, antique furniture, art, and light fixtures - it difficult to take in all of the details at Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler at once. This shop has been on my London list for a long time and thanks to a friend, I finally made it. Everything is so beautifully detailed and even looking at these photos again, I've noticed objects and features I didn't notice on my visit. Founded in the 1930s, this firm has a modern old world charm and is one of my favorite companies.
The store was exhibiting a selection of lovely art by artist Lucinda Oakes. The collection features the prettiest garden-inspired artworks and decorative objects including a pair of painted obelisks, a painted gardening trophy, and other unique botanical-inspired pieces.
Though I am a self-professed design enthusiast, from the lighting to the floral fabrics - everything was just perfect.
I loved the mix of antiques with the custom furniture line. Isn't the pyramid bookcase amazing? I'm working to plan another trip to London this spring and a return visit to this shop is definitely on my list. I purchased a vintage Colefax & Fowler book that I brought home with me. I can't wait to dive into it.
