Classes and Creativity at MADOO
When I look back at many of the highlights from this year, they're rooted in MADOO.
The Madoo Conservancy is dedicated to the study, preservation, and enhancement of Madoo, the ever-changing, horticulturally diverse garden with historic structures established in 1967 by artist, gardener, and writer Robert Dash in the village of Sagaponack, New York. It's truly the most beautiful garden with an array of creative activities, workshops, lectures, and events.
This summer, I took a painting class and painted en plein air in the gardens. Though I am certainly not an artist, I love painting and the activity is a wonderful reprieve from the computer and I do feel it requires me to use my mind in different ways than I'm used to.
I'm very grateful to have found this special place. I'm looking forward to taking more classes next year and I know I'll have more notes to share.
